There have been more than 25 studies documenting the occurrence of pathogens in dental unit water worldwide, and the levels detected have reached as high as a million colony-forming units per millilitre (CFU/ml). Those studies have shown that microbial levels in dental unit water can reach 200,000 CFU/ml within just five days after installing new dental unit waterlines.
It is also documented that biofilm formation occurred even in a brand new dental unit that was just installed. Thus, pathogens are present in the water and they can enter a patient's mouth. If aerosolized, they can also reach the respiratory tract and lungs of patients, staff and dentists alike.

Our FT-DM3 series Iodiser™ provides the solution for dental and medical practices.
The units come in a standard size as per table below, however, they can be scaled to any flow rate required for the application. The equipment is designed to treat and protect the water for a whole building as it is installed at the incoming water mains - not just the dental water unit itself. This results in a solution where all dental water units in the building are protected at once.
This reduces the cost for a practice with many dental water units and saves also on maintenance cost. As added bonus all water in the building, including hot water systems, are protected against pathogens

Precise ion dosing is the key to effective biocide performance. Hence the ion concentration needs to be kept within a narrow bandwidth. Failure to do so will not provide residual disinfection and can completely defeat the purpose of ionization equipment.This is the most common reason for customer dissatisfaction with competitor products.
The precise dosing of the FT units is achieved through our unique proportional dosing feature. This technology allows us to achieve an incredibly stable ion concentration for effective biocide action.For us there is no place for guess work or rule of thumb engineering!

Services
- BioN Water Synergetics Pty Ltd will provide an analysis of your existing installation and will determine the maximum flow rate to identify the correct size of the unit required. This is done using our own in-house non-invasive flow monitoring and logging equipment in case there is a flow rate of more than 0.67 l/s for the whole building to be treated
- BioN Water Synergetics Pty Ltd will also obtain and document the following parameters:
- pH
- Total hardness
- TDS
- Calcium hardness
- Alkalinity
- Chlorine
- Copper
- BioN Water Synergetics Pty Ltd will organize and supervise installation
- BioN Water Synergetics Pty Ltd, using factory trained technicians, will conduct ongoing inspection and servicing of equipment according to current legislation
- BioN Water Synergetics Pty Ltd will provide ongoing water analysis
Leasing
Rather than outright purchase of the equipment we can also arrange leasing options which include all servicing and maintenance for the duration of the contract.
Shipping and installation
Single phase 240 VAC, three pin plug is standard electrical connection on all equipment. Units are pre-assembled at the factory so as to minimise disruption to water supplies during the installation process.
Immediate Benefits
Once installed, the unit immediately begins charging the water with ions and the anti bacterial action commences. It is important to understand that bio-film, a sludge containing a biological cocktail, is lining the inside of the piping. The amount of bio-film build up is dependant on the age of the plumbing and significant reductions in microbiological levels will not be evident until the ions have fully invaded and decayed this bio-film.

It should also be noted that although the ions will erode the bio-film, they actually help to prevent corrosion in the pipe work itself.
